Frequently Asked Questions

  • I recommend waiting until after your consultation to get a head start. Seeing your home in its natural, day-to-day state gives me valuable insight into your routines, habits, and what’s working (and what’s not) in each space. That helps me create organizing systems that are realistic, intuitive, and designed to last for you and your family.

After the consultation, you’re more than welcome to begin decluttering if you’d like—at that point, you’ll have clearer direction and support.

  • Not at all. Some clients prefer a more hands-off experience, while others enjoy working alongside me—and both approaches are completely fine.

That said, many clients find they get the most value when they’re involved. Working together allows you to see how a professional organizer thinks, learn practical organizing techniques (like folding methods and system setup), and gain insight you can use long after our sessions are over.

Kids are welcome to be part of the process, too. Older children can benefit from learning organizing skills alongside us, which often helps systems stick long-term. If you have younger children who require constant supervision, that’s completely okay—just keep in mind it may slow the pace of the session slightly.

  • I handle product sourcing as part of the organizing process so we can work efficiently and create systems that truly function in your space. When I shop for organizing products, I’m intentionally planning ahead—often purchasing a few extra options so I have flexibility once I’m on-site and working through your belongings. This allows me to adapt as needed and choose what works best in real time, without slowing down the session.

If you have a specific budget you’d like me to stay within, it’s important to let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. Organizing products can add up quickly depending on the scope of the project and your preferences.

Some clients want a Pinterest-worthy result with new organizing supplies throughout, while others prefer to work primarily with what they already have on hand. Both approaches are completely fine. That said, I do recommend being prepared to invest a few hundred dollars into your space, as the right organizing products can often make a big difference in both function and longevity.

  • One of the things I love most about being a professional organizer is that every client and every home is different—no two projects are ever the same. My focus is always on doing the job well, not rushing through it.

The amount of time needed depends on several factors, including the size of the space, your goals, the amount of clutter, and how quickly decisions can be made during the process. If you choose to work alongside me, staying focused and productive can help move things along more quickly—but there’s never pressure to rush.

Organizing is an investment in your home and your quality of life. Spending a little extra time creating thoughtful systems now often saves time, energy, and frustration in the long run. During your consultation, I can give you a general estimate of how many sessions may be needed, but timelines are always just that—estimates.

  • Getting started is simple:

    1. Reach out to schedule a complimentary phone consultation.

    2. We’ll connect to talk through your space, goals, and what kind of support would be most helpful.

    3. Book your consultation and sessions, and we’ll take it from there—one step at a time.

From start to finish, the process is designed to feel approachable, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

  • I don’t offer full cleaning services. My work focuses on decluttering, organizing, and creating functional systems that make your home easier to maintain long-term.

That being said, I do wipe down shelves, drawers, and surfaces as needed while organizing. I’m not going to place items back into a dusty or dirty space; Creating functional systems starts with a clean foundation!

If you’re thinking of hiring a cleaning service, I encourage you to consider getting organized first. Many clients find that organizing helps them get more value from their cleaning services. With clear surfaces and functional systems in place, cleaners can focus on deeper cleaning rather than working around clutter, which often leads to better results in less time.

  • Home Consultation
During your in-home consultation, I’ll walk through the spaces you’d like help with and talk through what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d like to change. We’ll discuss your goals, priorities, and any specific challenges you’re facing. Based on what I see, I’ll give you a general estimate of how many sessions may be needed and help you decide on the best next steps. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your first organizing session.

    Organizing Sessions
During our sessions, we’ll declutter and sort through your belongings, identify what’s no longer serving you, and create organizing systems tailored to your needs, routines, and lifestyle. I’ll organize your space in a way that’s both functional and intuitive, with the goal of making it easy to maintain.

Some spaces take more than one session to complete. If that’s the case, I’ll always leave your space tidy and functional enough to get you comfortably through until our next session. I’ll also update you on progress and outline clear next steps so you know exactly what to expect when I return.

At the end of each session, I’ll walk you through your space and explain how everything works so you feel confident maintaining it moving forward. Then comes the best part—enjoying a home that feels calmer, more functional, and easier to live in over time.

  • No. I’ll never force you to get rid of anything you’re not comfortable letting go of. My role is to help you thoughtfully identify the items you truly need, use, and love—and to create systems that support those choices.

Decluttering and purging items that are rarely used or no longer serving you is often encouraged because it can make a big difference in how functional and organized a space feels. That said, all decisions are always yours. My job is to guide and support you, not pressure you.

  • Yes—when appropriate, I help clients identify potential toxins that may be lurking in everyday items throughout the home, including bathrooms, makeup and skincare, cleaning products, and even the pantry.

This is always a supportive and educational part of the process, never overwhelming or fear-based. I’ll point out products that may be worth reconsidering, explain why, and offer practical, realistic alternatives if you’re interested. How far you choose to take this is completely up to you.

My goal is to help create a home that feels not only organized, but healthier and more supportive of your well-being—at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable.

  • I understand that life happens and schedules can change. I ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.

Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged at 100% of the session cost if cancellations or last-minute changes become recurring. This is always handled at my discretion and with communication—I aim to be flexible while also respecting the time reserved for your project.

If I ever need to cancel a session on my end, your session will be credited in full and applied toward a future date.

    Missed Appointments

If I arrive for a scheduled session and no one is home, I’ll wait 10 minutes and attempt to contact you. If I don’t hear back within an additional 10 minutes, I’ll leave a note, voicemail, or send a text letting you know I stopped by and was unable to access the home.

Missed appointments are charged 100% of the session cost, as that time has been reserved specifically for you.

    Packages & Transfers

Organizing packages are non-refundable, but they may be transferred or gifted if needed. All sessions included in a package must be used within one year of the purchase date.

What People Are Saying

“Organizing my home office was something I always thought I could do myself. But it's been a hot mess for years and became overwhelming to tackle. I contacted Timber through her website and she got back to me quickly. She showed up on time to our consultation, was patient and organized. The first session was the next week and she came prepared. We got a lot done and she showed my 7 year old daughter how to organize and file her own artwork. By the end of our second session we had transformed my mess into a functioning office and craft/homework area for my kids. She took all the garbage and donation stuff with her. Timber was polite and professional. I don't think I would have been able to do it without her.”

Bridget B.

“9 people live in my house. 3 of them are kids. My house is a constant revolving door of friends and family. I am Filipino and in our culture you do not come in the house and NOT eat. My walk-in pantry seemed huge when we bought our house, but now it was a terrible mess of Costco size boxes of cereals, snacks, medicines, party supplies, etc... As much as I tried, I could not get it together.

ENTER TIMBER... OMG.

It has been 3 months and my kids and the adults are all following the organization that she came up with! TOTAL Genius. She was way more efficient than I could be. I should have invested in her earlier… I thought I could do it on my own and wasted so much money trying. She is amazing to work with and totally excited to help and see a transformation. Up next is my closet!”

Jechane R.

“Wonderful experience! Timber helped me organize before packing for my out of state move and did an outstanding job! She is not only very knowledgeable in what she does but she is very friendly and kind! I highly recommend her for all your organizing needs! She went above and beyond and it's obvious that she truly loves what she does.”
